LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18, 2019—Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI), the leading distributed antenna system (DAS), small cells and Wi-Fi provider that serves consumers, carriers and advertisers worldwide, has launched neutral host cellular DAS and Wi-Fi networks at the newly opened 972,000 square-foot Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Boingo is operating multi-carrier wireless services at the new MSY complex as part of a multi-year agreement with the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Aviation Board.
“Boingo is proud to be the connectivity partner of this historic New Orleans infrastructure project,” said Boingo CEO Mike Finley. “No world-class airport is complete without next generation wireless solutions—and this is where Boingo comes in. Our converged DAS and Wi-Fi deployment complements the new MSY’s modern travel experience, elevating the passenger journey with world-class wireless amenities.”
Boingo is the largest operator of airport Wi-Fi and DAS networks in the U.S. Its latest network at MSY is built to accommodate mobile data demands of the 5G era. The neutral host DAS boosts cellular signals and can support multiple Tier One carriers. The high-density Wi-Fi offers passengers a free connectivity experience, with speeds up to 100 Mbps. AT&T and Sprint customers can enjoy seamless, secure Wi-Fi connectivity through Passpoint technology.
“Greater ease and efficiency for passengers were priorities since day one of the new MSY project,” said Kevin C. Dolliole, Director of Aviation for the city of New Orleans. “Boingo helps us achieve these goals by delivering connectivity that makes travel more convenient and seamless.”
#TheNewMSY features three concourses, 35 gates, new parking garages and over 40 restaurant and shopping options post-security. The $1 billion capital program replaces the original MSY facility. For more information, visit thenewmsy.com.
