Animation specifications

   Background: 1200x700px image OR solid color/gradient. Specify “centered on content box” or positioned in one of the four page corners. Each module shares the same background, this cannot be modified mid-flow.

2. DO NOT include message text OR important design elements in the background. Backgrounds are cropped on some devices and consistent results cannot be guarenteed.

   Custom Container: Optional. Feel free to use custom colors, size, opacity & corner rounding. DO NOT exceed 530x500px.

   Message Banner: Optional. 480x60px.

   Animation:

   • 400-480px width 200-360px height.
   • Max 15 second animation length
   • Max file size 200kB
   • 30fps maximum frame rate
   • Audio is allowed, must include mute controls. Unmuted by default.
   • Include both .SWF and .FLA files.
   • There are two different types of Flash Animation modules: “Call to action Included”(A) and “Call to action not included” (B).

6. Note: You must choose one of the options below. In general, if your animation will have user-clickable buttons included at the end of the animation, then you should choose (A).

1. A

   Call to action included requirements:

• Final frame MUST include a button with text starting with “Connect and ...” (e.g. “Connect and Learn More”)
• Final frame MAY include a button or link with text starting with “No thanks” (e.g. “No thanks, just take me online”).
• Javascript callbacks:
  • window.animationStarted() - When the Flash animation begins playing
  • window.animationAccept() - When the “Connect and ...” button is clicked, this function must be called.
  • window.animationReject() - When the “No thanks... ” button or link is clicked, this function must be called.
2. B

   Call to action Not Included requirements

• The advertisementís call to action messaging must not be present in the animation itself; it must be present in a different, subsequent module (for instance, the “Click-to-visit” module). The final frame shouldnít contain any interactive elements.
• Javascript callbacks:
  • window.animationStarted() - When the Flash animation begins playing. (This should be executed on the first frame of the animation.)
  • window.animationDone() - When the animation has completed playing and their is no further action for the user to take in the animation. (This will likely be on the last frame of the animation.)

3. A Note on Javascript Callbacks

   Your Flash animation will need to make callbacks into our Javascript in order to properly integrate with the sponsorship experience.

   
   

   In AS3

   You will be using the flash.external.ExternalInterface class; you can find documentation for this Interface here: Adobe Help

   For example in order generate an alert popup you would do:
   ExternalInterface.call("alert('Hello world!')")
   Note that a string is being passed to the `call` function.
